It’s been a while since we last posted. The delay is a combination of things going mostly the same and settling in after Paul’s mom died. Both of us also got hit with really bad colds and coughs that have gone on for a few weeks. Because we’re both immune-compromised, the docs at Kaiser want to keep an eye on us so we don’t get sicker. We just came back from the docs, and we’re mostly good to go. Paul had a little more congestion in his lungs, but so far it’s clear… no pneumonia.
We just got some good news. Finally.
Tim’s PET scan today showed that there appears to be no active cancer. He’s meeting with his oncologist next week to go over these latest results. We’re really hoping this is as good as it seems.
Paul’s recent labs showed that he’s continuing to respond to and improve with his chemo treatments. Meaning that as long as his improvement continues, they will hold off on harvesting his stem cells.
Holidays have been a good time for us, and we’re looking forward to having Paul’s dad come out to visit us. Dad wants to spend time with us and so do we. His visit is a little precarious since he’s 96 and a bit wobbly. So, Paul will fly out to Milwaukee to accompany him back to our house. We’ve elderly-proofed our house as best as we know, and will try our best to keep him from tipping over while he’s here.
Our campsite in the Eastern Sierra (about 10,000 feet). We probably can't do that again any time soon, but what a wonderful memory.
